And my 7 month old laptop is broken. It won't do anything, or load anything, or do anything but freeze.

Awesome.

Unless it magically fixes itself while it's shut down today I think I'm out of landcooms and fandom for a long time.

I don't even have time to take it somewhere to be looked at for about 2 weeks.

I don't know what happened. It was fine last night and wonky this afternoon. I restarted it a bunch of times and nothing happens to it... I'm hoping it will fix itself. I think it installed an update by itself, and it made it cranky.

I am crossing all crossables and praying it doesn't stay broken!! The only thing more devastating to my fandom interactions I could imagine happening is if it happened to me!

I'm hoping a nap fixes it ... it can't actually be broken right? I wasn't even doing anything with it!

I did at least manage to get it open in safe mode and transfer my downloads, arts and the stories I'm working on to my external drive. So nothing is lost.

Well that is good. I hope it just had a little brain freeze. Mine has been lately. But it seems to correct itself when I restart. I think the most recent update was a bad one.. maybe it is an easy fix. *hopes*

So it loaded tonight, let me run a virus scan, it didn't find anything, but it won't let me do anything ... I open a program, and it works for a few seconds then the program stops responding.

Ugh.

Well that's at least something.. Hmm... Have you tried a malware removal?? Or does your virus program cover spyware and malware too??

I have paid for Norton, plus malwarebytes and agi... (I think those are the free programs). There are some updates and such that I'll try on it. And we'll see. But since it isn't a virus or malware or something ... there has to be something in the updates or such that made it wonky.
