Mar. 22nd, 2012 11:44 amToday at work was "dress like a goof day"
I didn't want to do it, because that's just way out of my comfort zone to dress in things that are silly, or don't match, or whatnot. But my WHOLE TEAM wanted to do it ... and I decided it was better to follow the team and all look silly instead of being the only on that didn't look silly and getting singled out for that.
Get to work - my team was really the only people that did it. A few others, but in an office of over 150 people - maybe 20 people did it - 9 of them from my team.
So that makes me ask - why. Why do we take ourselves so seriously that we can't let loose and be silly? How do we go from being kids who are full of creative mish-mash to grown-ups that can't take one day to wear something in public that might not match?
