And I'm sure you're exaggerating about the "little chubby butterball" observation. Wear a v-neck or dress shirt, and a jacket that falls anywhere except the widest part of the hip. Slacks are nice, wide leg is slimming. Or a skirt that falls at the knee or just above.

Keep the top & bottom in similar colours or at least both light or both dark - that will lengthen your look and avoid you looking chopped up in the middle. And of course, NO horizontal stripes - vertical ones are good though.

I used to do image consulting - trust me on this. You'll be great, I have faith!

I actually participated in the toy drive at work and can be causal all month and as a result can actually wear jeans if I wanted to for the interviewe (says the interview email that I got). Not that I'd actual wear jeans, but I think I'm fussing to much ... and getting super dressy may look like I'm trying to hard? Especially since I'm sure my interviewers will mostly be in jeans?

True - but there's a balance between the jeans that I'm allowed to wear and a suit jacket and "stuffy" clothes. I didn't even wear a suit jacket for my first interview here.

Ok, I see why you're feeling unsettled. It would actually be easier if you didn't have the casual option.

In that case, I'd go with slacks and a sweater or nice blouse with a cardigan over top. Kind of "business casual".

I'm sure they'll get a real mixture, but remember: first impressions ARE important, no matter what they say to the contrary. I wouldn't go the jeans route...doing just that little bit extra to present yourself professionally will go a long way to sending a message about how serious you are about this job.

It would be easier w/o that option. We're sorta casual most of the time, and jeans make it more so. So I want to be a step above - but not so far above that it just looks silly.

Plus I've been very quiet about my application (everyone always is with this, it's sort of unspoken that we won't speak about it), so no one outside of the supervisors know - so if I'm too dressy it will lead to questions that I don't want.

I could. I think it'll depend on if I find a cute top and maybe a skirt tonight at the store. I think even just a cute top would be enough for me ... I just need a little something special/extra to what I wear most days (which is a nice shirt and dress pants ... I'm not typically the jeans person.)
